My story

I was born in Ruse, Bulgaria, a city on the Danube where the architecture carries the memory of every era that passed through it. Baroque facades, Soviet concrete, and the river itself, indifferent, enduring, older than all of it.

The Nobel Prize winning author Elias Canetti was born there. He once wrote: “Anything I subsequently experienced had already happened in Ruschuk.” I understand what he meant.

When I was a child, my family moved to Istanbul and settled in Bakırköy. Our neighbours were almost entirely silversmiths and jewellers, many of them working daily in the Grand Bazaar, a market that has operated continuously for more than five centuries and remains one of the world’s oldest and largest centres of jewellery craftsmanship. I grew up surrounded by that work, not as a visitor to it, but as someone who saw it practised next door every day as an ordinary part of life.

Years later, my husband, our cat and I left Istanbul. We made our home in the Netherlands before eventually settling in the United Kingdom.

I now run SILVER & ELEGANT from our studio in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

The jewellery I carried through each of these moves was never simply an ornament. It became a map of my life, the one form of history that travelled with us across every border.

That journey is the heart of SILVER & ELEGANT. Not merely a brand, but a collection of stories designed to endure.

Design Philosophy

Our process is a dual practice, where modern technology and traditional craftsmanship hold equal weight. We use generative design to explore complex, architectural forms, and we simultaneously engage in classical design and artisanal production within our Istanbul atelier. It is in this synthesis — where digital precision meets the human hand and the language of metal — that we find the signature balance of SILVER & ELEGANT. This is not a transition from one world to the other, but a simultaneous integration of both.

Brand Vision

We operate at the intersection of architectural minimalism and narrative jewellery. In a world of disposable consumption, SILVER & ELEGANT stands for the philosophy of Future Heirlooms — objects crafted with the intent to outlast the fleeting moment of their creation, designed to be passed down through generations.

Career Highlights

The brand's emergence was marked by our participation as a jewellery partner for Paul Costelloe's Autumn/Winter 2026 opening show. This milestone represents a significant step in our commitment to bringing high-concept, architectural jewellery into contemporary fashion.

As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), my practice is defined by a dedication to design discipline, cultural heritage, and the continuous search for intellectual depth in aesthetic production.
